The Third UK Rasch Day
Written by Chris Wheadon
Tuesday, 05 February 2008

Thank you to all the delegates who participated to make the third UK Rasch day hosted by AQA in Manchester a success. Thirty four researchers were able to attend from fields as diverse as optometry and high-stakes national assessment. The presentations, which had a strong test-equating theme this year, are available in the downloads section. Please leave us your feedback on the day by logging in and using the comment form below this news post. We’d appreciate any suggestions on how to make the day more productive and ways in which we could contact anyone working with Rasch who is not yet aware of these meetings. Don’t forget you can contact any of the delegates directly through the website to follow up any areas of mutual interest or to seek advice and help.

The Cambridge Assessment Network hosted the 2nd meeting of the UK Rasch Users Group at Hughes Hall in Cambridge, England on Monday 5th February 2007. The 38 delegates heard presentations covering a wide range of practical applications of Rasch measurement - from investigating misfit in classroom mathematics tests
to measuring rehabilitation outcomes in brain-injured patients. During the lunch break there were demonstrations of developments from Cambridge ESOL in item banking, item analysis and computer adaptive testing, and of Cambridge Assessment's TSA (Thinking Skills Assessment) online test for university admissions.
